Interview with Thomas J. Hayman, a businessman, concerning his role in the development of Hamilton Park, Texas, as a residential area for African Americans during the 1950s. Hayman discusses his relationship with Carr P. Collins and Fidelity Union Life Insurance Company, the formation of the Associated Construction Company and the construction of housing in Hamilton Park, the role of Hoblitzelle Foundation in purchasing land for home-building sites, the role of Jerome Crossman and the Dallas Interracial Association, the selection of house building plans, and loan approvals.
